Hyundai Elantra facelift India front

2019 Hyundai Elantra facelift will go on sale in India next month (i.e. September). One must note that the official launch date and details are yet to be announced by the carmaker. The Elantra’s LHS (left-hand-drive) version was first previewed in August last year, followed by unveiling of its ASEAN-spec (RHD – right-hand-drive) model in April 2019.

We have also seen multiple spy pictures of the India-spec model revealing its subtle design upgrades. The 2019 Hyundai Elantra facelift gets the signature cascading grille, revised headlamps with LED DRLs, triangular fog lamps and a more muscular hood at the front end. The 16/17-inch alloy wheels could also be redesigned. The rear section will continue to look sporty with minor changes including new bumper with reversing lights, tapering taillamps and rear fog lamps. Read – Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Price List & Details

Engine setup of the 2019 Hyundai Elantra facelift will remain unchanged – i.e. 152bhp, 2.0L, 4-cylinder petrol and 128bhp, 1.6L diesel. The former, however, will meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms. The existing 1.6L in its BS4 avatar will continue to be on offer. It will be replaced with a new 1.5L VGT diesel engine before BS6 deadline. Transmission options will also be carried over from the current model – i.e. a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
