2019 Honda HRV Sport With Black Treatment & 180bhp Engine Revealed
Honda has also revised its suspension setup for enhancing its handling.
The Japanese carmaker has revealed the 2019 Honda HRV premium compact SUV for the European market. The updated model receives new styling and features along with a new Sport variant. Unlike the regular trims, the 2019 Honda HRV Sport gets all black treatment and looks sportier. The new variant also witnessed minor mechanical changes for delivering better driving dynamics and performance.
At the heart, the 2019 Honda HRV Sport features a 1.5L VTEC turbocharged petrol pushing out power worth 180bhp at 5,500rpm and 240Nm of torque between 1,900rpm – 5,000rpm. It’s the same powertrain that does duty in the Honda Civic sedan. Transmission duties are done by a 6-speed manual gearbox and CVT automatic unit. Styling bits such as black honeycomb front grille with chrome accents, fog light surrounds and blackened door mirrors differentiate the 2019 Honda HRV Sport variant from the regular model. The new variant also features sporty accents on side skirts, fenders and rear bumper along with dual-exist exhaust pipes. The vehicle rides on newly-designed 18-inch alloy wheels. Interior of the 2019 Honda HRV Sport also looks different from the standard model. The seats have black and red finish and black headlining, and are claimed to provide better support. Features such as dual-zone auto AC unit, sportier black roof lining trim and dashboard integrated touchscreen are also on offer. Honda says that the new HRV Sport aims the trim level at “buyers who want a sportier driving experience from a subcompact SUV”. Production of the new 2019 Honda HRV Sport will begin in December and its delivery will commence early next year.
