2019 Honda HR-V Mugen Unveiled – GIIAS 2019
Honda is planning to bring the hugely popular HR-V mid-sized compact SUV in the Indian market. In fact, testing of the SUV has already been started in India. It is expected to be launched in the country by Diwali 2019. Honda has showcased the facelifted version of the HR-V Mugen at the 2019 GIIAS.
Mugen is the Honda’s offical parts tuner, called the Mugen Motorsports. The 2019 Honda HRV Mugen is based on the 1.5-litre Special Edition variant. It receives subtle upgrades that differentiate the Mugen HRV from the regular variant. The SUV comes with a thick chrome grille with the Honda emblem embossed in the centre.
The 2019 Honda HR-V Mugen comes equipped with grey front bumper extensions, rear bumper and side skirts. It rides on newly developed 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels wrapped in 215/55 section tyres. The Mugen badge can be seen on the front wing and the Mugen decal is offered on the door panels. It features new rear spoiler finished in silver and a shark fin antenna. Inside the cabin, the 2019 Honda HR-V Mugen gets Muegn floot mats and and badge above the transmission lever. Besides these two changes, the interior of the Mugen HR-V remains largely identical to the standard model. It is available with 2 engine options – a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.8-litre petrol. While the former is good for 118bhp and 145Nm, the 1.8L unit produces 139bhp and 169Nm.
Only 250 units of the 2019 Honda HR-V Mugen will be on sale. It is offered in six colour options – White Orchid Pearl, Lunar Silver, Crystal Black Pearl, Dark Metallic, Modern Metallic Steel and Red Rallye. In Indonesia, the new model will cost at Rp. 344 million for the Red Rallye edition. The other metallic and pearl finish models will be priced at Rp. 345.5 million.
