The 2019 Honda Civic sedan will officially go on sale in India on March 8, 2019

We informed you earlier that the latest generation Honda Civic will be launched in the Indian market in March 2019. The all-new Civic sedan was debuted at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo; however, the company will introduce the facelifted version in India. Ahead of the scheduled launch in March, the 2019 Honda Civic has been spotted wearing red colour. The spotted model was the range-topping ‘ZX’ variant, which will be equipped with several high-end features.

The new-gen Honda Civic sedan, for the first time, will be offered in diesel version in India. The sedan will be powered by a 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that also powers the new CR-V. This engine is capable of producing 118bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. The gasoline version will get the tried & tested 1.8-litre i-VTEC naturally aspirated unit that will offer 138bhp of power and 174Nm of torque.

While the petrol engine will be paired to a CVT automatic or a 6-speed manual gearbox, the oil burner will receive the manual gearbox option only. In international markets, the Civic diesel also gets a 9-speed automatic gearbox. This gearbox is not likely to be offered in the India-spec model due to its high pricing.
