The German luxury carmaker today rolled out the 2019 BMW 7 Series facelift in the Indian market. The luxury saloon is available in 6 variants priced from Rs 1.22 crore to Rs 2.42 crore (ex-showroom, Pan India). Alongside, the company has introduced its flagship SUV – BMW X7 – at Rs 98.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Both models are based on the company’s CLAR platform and share powertrains and several comfort and connectivity features.

The 2019 BMW 7 Series facelift diesel sources its power from a 3.0L, in-line 6-cylinder, twin-turbo engine pushing out 265bhp against 620Nm of peak torque. The petrol variants make use of a 3.0L, 6-cylinder motor producing a maximum power of 340bhp. Both powertrains are paired to an 8-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox.

The saloon’s 745Le xDrive plug-in hybrid variant comes with an in-line, 6-cylinder petrol motor and electric motor. While the former delivers 286bhp with 450Nm, the latter produces 113bhp and 265Nm. Its combined power and torque outputs stand at 395bhp and 600Nm respectively. The saloon’s top-end M760Li xDrive trim is power-packed with a 6.6L twin-turbocharged V12 petrol engine that’s good enough for 585bhp and 850Nm of torque. This performance-oriented motor can do 0 to 100kmph in just 3.8 seconds.

Cosmetic changes are minimal. The 2019 BMW 7 Series facelift receives a larger and more pronounced signature grille with sleeker headlamps, slightly raised bonnet, revised front and rear bumpers and re-designed taillamps. The luxury saloon comes loaded with several bells and whistles including BMW’s latest iDrive system with gesture control, four zone climate control, rear entertainment package with individual touchscreens, a 460W Harman Kardon surround sound system, a 12.3-inch infotainment system and many more.
