Swedish Luxury carmaker, Volvo has finally introduced its smallest & most affordable SUV – the Volvo XC40 – in India. This SUV is available in a single variant only – the R-Design – priced at Rs 39.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). One can pre-book this car at an initial token amount of Rs 5 lakh.

Powering the new 2018 Volvo XC490 is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel (D4) engine, which is capable of producing 190bhp and 400Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all-four-wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. In terms of features, the Volvo XC40 R-Design gets 18-inch alloy wheels, wireless mobile phone charging, a powered tailgate and heated seats. The SUV also gets a 9.0-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a 750-watt 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. The SUV is also the safest in its category, featuring advanced safety features like lane-keeping assist, blind spot warning, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, ESP, traction control, hill descent control and eight airbags. The new model directly rivals the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and the Mercedes-Benz GLA.
