TVS Motor Company has released a teaser picture of the new Apache RTR 160 ahead of its launch on March 14, 2018. Set for a generation change, the Apache RTR 160 will witness significant styling and design updates along with a new chassis. Engine details are yet to be revealed. Though, it is likely to see minor mechanical changes.

The teaser picture shows the race-spec of the bike such as the edgier front design. Spy pictures reveal that the new Apache RTR 160 will take its design inspiration from the Apache RTR 200 4V. The double cradle synchro chassis will be borrowed from the Apache 180.

Some of the key updates will include digital instrument console, clear lens taillamp, backlit LCD display, a single seat unit and 17-inch alloy wheels. At the heart of the new Apache RTR 160 could be an updated motor delivering better power and performance. The specifications will be confirmed by the bikemaker at the time of its launch. Currently, the motorcycle comes with a 159.7cc, single-cylinder engine paired to a 5-speed gearbox. This unit makes 15.2bhp of power and 13.1Nm of torque.

When it comes to pricing, the new Apache RTR 160 could be slight more expensive than the current model. Expect it to be priced around 80,000 (ex-showroom). It will continue to take on the Suzuki Gixxer, Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and Honda CB Hornet 160.
