Japanese two-wheeler automaker, Suzuki has launched the new ABS variant of the Gixxer naked streetfighter in the Indian two-wheeler market. Positioned against TVS Apache RTR 160R, the 2018 Suzuki Gixxer ABS is priced at Rs 87,250 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The ABS variant is around Rs 6000 more expensive than the twin-disc Gixxer variant. The Suzuki Gixxer is available with a single-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) along with rear disc brakes.

The 2018 Suzuki Gixxer ABS is available in three dual-tone paint jobs – Metallic Triton Blue/Glass Sparkle Black, Candy Sonoma Red/Metallic Sonic Silver and Glass Sparkle Black. Speaking on the launch of Suzuki Gixxer ABS, Sanjeev Rajasekharan, EVP, Sales and Marketing, SMIPL, said, “The ABS option allows us to improve on an already exciting riding experience for our Gixxer customers. The Gixxer series is an important cog of our India product-strategy. Besides ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), the Suzuki Gixxer overall design and features remain unchanged. It is powered by a 155cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that churns out 14.8bhp of power at 8,000rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. While the Intruder and SF come with fuel-injection system, the naked Gixxer is continue with a carburettor only. The 2018 Suzuki Gixxer will rival against the likes of Honda CB Hornet 160R, Yamaha FZ-S FI, Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
