2018 Suzuki Gixxer Series Launched; Gets ABS As Standard

2018 Suzuki Gixxer SP and Gixxer SP SF are now available at Rs 87,250 and Rs 1.00 lakh respectively.

Suzuki Motorcycle India has rolled out the 2018 model year of the Gixxer SP (with ABS) and Gixxer SP SF (with FI and ABS) motorcycles at Rs 87,250 and Rs 1,00,630 respectively. One must note that the mentioned prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. Deliveries for both the bikes have been commenced across all Suzuki dealerships in the country. 2018 Suzuki Gixxer SF SP

In terms of design and styling, the 2018 Suzuki Gixxer SP and Gixxer SF SP look exactly similar to the old model. Though, it gets the MotoGP inspired ECSTAR badge and new body graphics. The 2018 model year the bike is now available with Candy Sonoma Red/ Metallic Sonic Silver colour schemes along with the regular the Glass Sparkle Black shade. Read: Suzuki Intruder 150 Vs Bajaj Avenger 150

No mechanical changes have been made to the bike. The 2018 Suzuki Gixxer SP and Gixxer SF SP continue to use the same old 155cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine. While the former has a carbureted motor, the latter one gets fuel injection technology. Both the motorcycles are boosted with Suzuki’s Eco Performance (SEP) technology. This motor can make a peak power of 14.6bhp at 8,000rpm against 14Nm of torque at 6,000rpm.

Transmitting power to the rear wheels is a 5-speed gearbox. The fuel injection technology improves the fuel efficiency and throttles response of the bike. The mileage figure of the standard Gixxer SP stands at 54kmpl, and the Gixxer SF SP version delivers fuel economy around 50kmpl. Read – Suzuki Katana Sport Motorcycles To Make A Comeback 

Damping duties on the bike are performed by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock rear suspension unit. Braking system of the new Gixxer consists of the front and rear drum brakes. The 2018 Gixxer SP and the full-faired Suzuki Gixxer SF get the single-channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System).

In J.D. Power 2018 India Two-Wheeler Initial Quality Study (2WIQS), the Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF ranked highest among upper executive models for three consecutive years. The study was based on evaluations from over 10,000 owners who purchased the new bikes from March 2017 to October 2017.
