2018 MINI Countryman Launched In India; Prices Start From Rs 34.90 Lakh

Prices of the 2018 Mini Countryman fall in the range of Rs 34.90 lakh – Rs 44.4 lakh (ex, India).

The second-generation Mini Countryman SUV has finally been launched in the Indian market. Similar to the old model, the 2018 Mini Countryman comes in three variants – Copper S, Copper SD and Cooper S JCW – which are priced at Rs 34.90 lakh, Rs 37.40 lakh and Rs 44.4 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, India. Deliveries of the SUV will begin from June, 2018.

While the first-generation model of the SUV was brought via CBU (Completely Built Up) route, the 2018 Mini Countryman is being assembled locally at BMW India’s Chennai based facility. The local assembly has reduced import duties and helped the carmaker achieve attractive pricing. 2018 Mini Countryman Specifications

Sharing its underpinning with the BMW X1, the 2018 MINI Countryman carries an all-new design language with bolder stance. Though, it continues to feature the boxy profile. Upfront, the SUV features the brand’s signature design elements such as a wider black mesh grille, new headlamps with LED projector lights and LED DRLs and pronounced wheel arches. Compared to the previous model, the new-generation Mini Countryman has bigger dimensions and more cabin space to offer. Proportionally, the 2018 MINI Countryman is 200mm longer and 30mm wider than the old model. In fact, its wheelbase has been stretched by 75mm. This creates more legroom and shoulder room for occupants. The SUV now offers a luggage area of 450-litres, which is 30% more than the current one. It can further be expanded to 1309-litres by folding the rear seats.

Features such as 18-inch alloy wheels, Harman Kardon audio system, leather-wrapped steering wheel and sports seats are reserved for the JCW trim. Power sources of the 2018 MINI Countryman include a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. The gasoline offers a maximum power output of 189bhp and 280Nm of torque. The SUV can mark 0-100kmph sprints in 7.5 seconds, and offer a top speed of 225kmph. The oil burner, on the other hand, churns out top power of 188bhp against 400Nm of peak torque. It accelerates 0-100kmph in 7.7 seconds, while maintaining a top speed of 220kmph. Both the motors are available with an 8-speed Steptronic gearbox.
