The new-generation Mercedes-Benz CLS was first previewed at the 2017 LA Auto Show.

Mercedes-Benz India has rolled out the third-generation CLS four-door coupe in the country. The company says that the 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLS 300 d “is the first car to incorporate the new Mercedes-Benz design idiom of “sensual purity” in a stylish coupe body”. First previewed at the 2017 LA Auto Show, the 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLS 300 d receives comprehensive aesthetic and feature upgrades. The vehicle also witnessed minor dimensional changes. Sharing its platform with E-Class, the four-door coupe sits on 61mm longer wheelbase (2,998mm). The overall length, width and height have also been increased. Though, the boot space remains unchanged – i.e. 520-litres.

Inside, the 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLS 300 d gets a 12.3-inch coolour display for the infotainment system integrated on the dashboard. It supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone applications. Other key features include jet turbine-inspired AC vents, standard Virtual Cockpit digital display for the instruments, a 13-speaker Burmester audio system, a sunroof and air body control air suspension. At the engine front, the 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLS gets a BSVI-ready 2.0L, four-cylinder diesel motor paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission. It can produce power worth 245bhp and 500Nm of torque. Mercedes claims that the new-generation CLS can accelerate 0 to 100kmph in 6.4 seconds while maintaining a top speed of 250kmph.
