The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga 2018 is based on the HERATECT platform.

The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is surely one of the big launches of the year. While official bookings for the MPV opened from 14th November, its launch too place on 21st November. Within 7 days, the new Maruti Ertiga 2018 managed to garner around 10,000 pre-bookings and currently commands a waiting period up to 3 months.

Interestingly, the new-generation Ertiga is one Maruti Suzuki’s cars that compliant with the upcoming Bharat NCAP safety standards. The other eight models include Maruti Ciaz sedan, Maruti S-Cross crossover, Maruti Baleno hatchback, Maruti Dzire compact sedan, Maruti Swift, Maruti Ignis, Maruti Celerio and Maruti Vitara Brezza. All these models meet the future side impact, frontal, off-set frontal and pedestrian crash norms.

Based on Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform, the new Maruti Ertiga 2018 is lighter yet stiffer and safer than the previous generation. The new architecture not only helped the MPV shed weight around 10 to 20kg (vary variant-wise), but increase dimensions as well. All variants of the new Maruti Ertiga 2018 get dual front airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), speed sensitive door locks, Isofix child seat mounts, rear parking sensors and a speed warning system as standard safety fitments. Read – New Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Vs Mahindra Marazzo

The top-spec trims are additionally offered with a rear parking camera, height adjustable seat belts in the front, electronic stability programe (ESP) and hill hold function. One must note that the ESP and hill hold function are reserved for the automatic variants.
