2018 Maruti Ertiga Bookings Open At Dealership Level

Deliveries will begin by the end of the next month (November).

We have reported earlier that the second-generation Maruti Ertiga will go on sale on November 21, 2018. Production of the MPV is already underway at the carmaker’s facility. According to a latest media report, select Maruti dealers have started taking pre-orders for the new Maruti Ertiga 2018 and deliveries will begin in the last week of November.

First previewed at the 2018 Indonesia International Motor Show, the new Maruti Ertiga will challenge the newly-launched Mahindra Marazzo. The latter one received 10,000 bookings within 45 days of its arrival in the market.

Unlike the current generation, the new Maruti Ertiga 2018 makes use of the company’s lightweight HEARTECT platform that certainly will improve its fuel efficiency and performance. Design will be revised comprehensive with elements such as slimmer and wider headlamps, chromed grille, revised front bumper and bonnet, wider airdam, XC-90 inspired wraparound LED taillamps and 15-inch wheels.

The MPV’s new generation model shares most of its features with the new-breed Maruti cars including Maruti’s Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system. The dashboard could be revised with light shade and faux wooden trim. Safety features such as dual front airbags and parking sensors might come as standard across the carline. Maruti Suzuki will introduce its new in-house developed 1.5L petrol engine carried over from the new Ciaz facelift. The new powertrain makes 104bhp with 138Nm of torque. The MPV will retain the Fiat-sourced 1.3L diesel engine that’s good enough for 89bhp. For transmission duties, the new Maruti Ertiga 2018 will have a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic unit.
