2018 Mahindra XUV500 facelift is now available in the price range of Rs 12.32 lakh – Rs 17.88 lakh (ex, Mumbai).

Mahindra & Mahindra’s highly popular SUV – XUV500 has received a mid-life updated in the country. Available in four trims – W5, W7, W9 and W11, the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 has been priced in the range of Rs 12.32 lakh – Rs 17.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Here’re the top five key updates the SUV has witnessed for the 2018 model year.

1. Pricing & Variants

Similar to the pre-facelift model, the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 comes in a total of 10 variants spread across four trims. Prices of the diesel models start from Rs 12.32 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 17.88 lakh. The petrol variant of the refreshed XUV500, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 15.43 lakh. This makes it around Rs 46,000 – Rs 1.03 lakh less expensive than the pre-facelift model that was offered in the price range of Rs 12.78 lakh – Rs 18.89 lakh. 2. More Powerful Diesel Engine

One of the major updates is the 15bhp more powerful diesel powertrain. Mahindra is offering a new 2.2-litre mHawk diesel on the updated XUV500, which is tuned for generating two power outputs – 155bhp with 360Nm and 140bhp with 320Nm. One must note that the powerful diesel motor is available on the top-spec trim only. Other lower variants continue to use the 140bhp, 2.2-litre oil burner.

Power for the petrol models comes from the same 2.2-litre turbocharged engine that’s good enough for 140bhp and 320Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Both the gearboxes are standard across the lineup. The SUV can be brought either with a FWD (front-wheel-drive) or AWD (all-wheel-drive). 3. Revised Styling

Design and styling of the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 has been revised comprehensive, especially the front fascia. On the front end, the SUV gets a new,bolder  grille with chrome garnish, re-designed bumper, new headlamps with double barrel projector lights and LED DRLs. The side profile, however, remains largely unchanged. Save for the new 10-spoke, 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, the updated model looks exactly similar to the old one. 4. New Colour Schemes

Mahindra has introduced two new paint schemes on the 2018 XUV500 facelift – Crimson Red and Mystic Copper. 5. More Feature Laden Interior

Compared to the pre-facelift model, the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 has more comfort and connectivity features to offer. It gets an updated touchscreen infotainment system with smartwatch app with Bluesense, which is first-in-the-industry. The audio system has also been enhanced. Features such as Connected Apps, Ecosense and Emergency call are also on offer.
