Prices of the diesel models start from Rs 12.32 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 17.88 lakh. The petrol variant of the refreshed XUV500, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 15.43 lakh. This makes it around Rs 46,000 – Rs 1.03 lakh less expensive than the pre-facelift model that was offered in the price range of Rs 12.78 lakh – Rs 18.89 lakh. 2. More Powerful Diesel Engine
One of the major updates is the 15bhp more powerful diesel powertrain. Mahindra is offering a new 2.2-litre mHawk diesel on the updated XUV500, which is tuned for generating two power outputs – 155bhp with 360Nm and 140bhp with 320Nm. One must note that the powerful diesel motor is available on the top-spec trim only. Other lower variants continue to use the 140bhp, 2.2-litre oil burner.
Power for the petrol models comes from the same 2.2-litre turbocharged engine that’s good enough for 140bhp and 320Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Both the gearboxes are standard across the lineup. The SUV can be brought either with a FWD (front-wheel-drive) or AWD (all-wheel-drive). The suspension system is also claimed to be tuned for better drivability. Read – Mahindra U321 MPV To Challenge Toyota Innova Crysta
