2018 Jeep Renegade Facelift Spied Testing – Video

Scheduled to be launched in 2018, the Jeep Renegade facelift will get cosmetic upgrades to exterior as well as interior.

We informed you earlier that Jeep has is planning to launch the Renegade compact SUV in the Indian car market in 2018-19. The company has already started testing the SUV on Indian roads. If media reports are to be believed, Jeep will launch the updated version of the Renegade in India. Interestingly, the 2018 Jeep Renegade facelift has already been spotted testing on foreign soil.

Going by the pictures, it is visible that the overall profile of the SUV is similar to the existing car. The vehicle continues to feature the similar retro-modern styled headlamps and grille, while the visual changes are visible on the bumpers. The bumper is now wrapped in black fabric, giving it a more rugged profile.

It is expected that the majority of the changes will be made inside the cabin. It is likely to get a new dashboard, a bigger infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, new steering wheel, upholstery and others. It was speculated that the Renegade could also get Trailhawk version, but Jeep official denied the possibility of a go-fast version of this SUV.

In India, the Renegade will be slotted below the Compass SUV. Media reports suggest that the new model could be priced around Rs 10 lakh. It will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and others in its league. While the global car is powered by a 2.0-litre MJD diesel engine, the India-spec model could use the 1.6-litre MJD diesel unit. The petrol version will be the detuned version of the 1.4-litre unit that also powers the Compass. Both manual and automatic versions of the car will be on offer.
