2018 model year of the India’s first adventure utility vehicle – Isuzu D-Max V-Cross has been launched in the country. Available in two variants – Standard and High, the 2018 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is priced at Rs 14.31 lakh and Rs 15.81 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. While the updated model of the pickup retains the original ISUZU DNA of sturdy built, fuel efficiency and reliability, it is claimed to be safer than the predecessor. Expanding the pickup lineup, the Japanese carmaker has added a new range-topping High V-Cross variant to the carline. Despite the subtle design and feature upgrades, the price of the new model remains unchanged. The Standard V-Cross is continued to carry a price tag of Rs 14.31 lakh, while the new V-Cross High trim has been priced at Rs 15.81 lakh. One must note that the aforementioned prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. 2018 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Exterior & Interior

For 2018 model year, the D-Max V-Cross has witnessed minor cosmetic updates. The face of the pickup looks refreshing with a large chrome grille and sweptback projector headlamps. Design elements such as LED daytime running lights replacing the fog lamps, LED tail lamps and a chrome rear bumper are reserved for the V-Cross High variant. The side steps and a rear view camera are standard across the carline. Isuzu is offering six exterior colour options on the pickup including the new Ruby Red, Cosmic Black, Orchid Brown, Obsidian Grey, Titanium Silver and Splash White.

Inside, the 2018 D-Max V Cross gets dual-tone theme and all-black leather seats upholstery. The driver’s seat is six-way power adjustable. The new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system is now standard across the carline. It also gets audio head unit and steering wheel mounted auto cruise controls. Safety features such as dual airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution), brake assist, traction control and ESC (Electronic Stability Control) are restricted to the high-end variant.

Mechanically, the pickup remains unchanged. Power source for the 2018 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is the same 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that did duty in the old model. This motor dishes out a maximum power output of 132bhp at 3,600rpm and 320Nm of torque between 1,800rpm – 2,800rpm. The pickup comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system.
