2018 Hyundai Santro Records Massive 23,500+ Bookings In 13 Days
The new Hyundai Santro 2018 has received over 23,500 pre-bookings in just 13 days; waiting period rises to 4 months
Hyundai has officially revealed that the new Santro has received over 23,500 pre-bookings in just 13 days. The company had started taking pre-orders for the tall-boy hatchback online on the 10th of October, 2018. Thanks to the overwhelming response, Hyundai Santro commands a waiting period of around 4 months in certain cities.
The Korean giant is aiming to produce around 10,000 units of the new Santro per month. However, production of the car has already been started. In fact, the small car has already been dispatched to dealerships. This suggests that the dealerships have decent stock to meet the high demand. The 2018 Hyundai Santro is powered by a 1.1-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of producing 68bhp of power and 99Nm of torque. This model also comes with petrol-CNG version, where this engine offers 58bhp of power and 94Nm of torque. For transmission duties, the new Santro gets a 5-speed manual and a newly developed AMT gearbox. It is also the brand’s first model to feature an AMT option.
The 2018 Hyundai Santro is equipped with several segment-leading features including rear air-conditioning vents, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, reverse parking camera, steering mounted controls etc. In fact, the base variant gets driver airbag, ABS with EBD, seat belt reminders and rear parking sensor as standard.
