Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has introduced the updated model of its flagship tourer – the 2018 Honda Gold Wing. Priced at Rs 26.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the tourer is available in two variants – Standard and Gold Wing Tour. The 2018 model year receives a more powerful engine and the third generation DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) along with an all-new design and chassis. In fact, the motorcycle comes with improved technology and performance.

For 2018 model year, the Honda Gold Wing features sharper design with a new small front fairing, The bike also gets an electrically adjustable windscreen. The significantly big panniers and top box provide storage space up to 110-litres. Ditching the conventional instrument cluster, the 2018 Honda Gold Wing gets a new 7-inch full-colour TFT display. Upfront, the new 2018 Honda Gold Wing sports full LED headlamps with auto cancelling indicators, and a smart key control. The audio unit has been carried over from the old model. The tourer is available in a single ‘Candy Ardent Red’ colour option. The 2018 Gold Wing sheds off 48kg of weight over the old model. In fact, its new chassis weighs 2kg lighter than its predecessor.
Power for the 2018 Honda Gold Wing comes from a more refined 1833cc six-cylinder engine. This motor has four valves per cylinder, and produces a maximum power of 125bhp at 5500rpm and peak torque of 170Nm at 4500rpm. While the global model of the tourer comes with a 6-speed gearbox, the India-spec version has a 7-speed DCT automatic unit. The 2018 Honda Gold Wing comes packed with the Throttle by Wire system offering four riding modes – Tour, Sport, Rain and Econ. Its Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) that offers three levels of control suspension system for heightened rider control. For a quick start, the bike has force Idling Stop and ISG (Integrated Starter Generator). The tourer also gets ABS (anti-lock braking system), Dual-Combined Braking System (D-CBS) and Hill Start Assist.
