2018 Honda CB1000R Neo Sports Cafe

2018 Honda CB1000R Neo Sports Cafe offers three riding modes – Standard, Sport and Rain along with User mode.

Honda recently took the wraps off the new CB1000R Neo Sports Cafe at the 2017 EICMA Motorcycle Show, Milan, Italy. This new litre-class naked bike was first previewed at the recently-concluded 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. Based on the ‘Neo Sports Cafe’ design philosophy, the 2018 Honda CB1000R Neo Sports Cafe carries a trapezoid silhouette and shares its engine with the CBR1000RR superbike.

Sitting on a new mono-backbone steel frame, the 2018 Honda CB1000R Neo Sports Cafe weighs 12kg lighter than its predecessor. This new platform uses split-tightening aluminum pivot plates for gripping the single-sided swingram. For a strong mid-range, the gearing of the bike has been shorten to 4%. Power for the new CB1000R is sourced from a 998cc, 4-cylinder in-line, liquid-cooled DOHC engine paired to a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch. This motor has been tweaked for generating better power and torque outputs. On the new model, the engine delivers 145.4PS at 10,500rpm and 104Nm of torque at 8,250rpm against 125PS and 98Nm of the old model. The naked CB1000R Neo Sports Cafe comes with three riding modes – Standard, Sport and Rain along with User mode that enables to adjust settings for each mode. In fact, the bike also gets three levels of Engine Brake, Engine Power and Honda Selectable Torque Control. Damping duties on the motorcycle are carried out by Showa SFF-BP USD front fork, and a Showa BRFC (Balance Free Rear Cushion) rear monoshock suspension system.

The 2018 Honda CB1000R Neo Sports Cafe naked bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with 120-section front and a 190-section rear tyres. Proportionally, the 2018 Honda CB1000R Neo Sports Cafe looks more compact than its predecessor. It features LED headlamps and multi functional digital instrument cluster. The Japanese bikemaker will also offer multiple factory-fitted accessories on the CB1000R+ variant such as single seat cowl, heated grips and quickshifter. The bike has a fuel tank capacity of 16.2-litres.
