2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R ABS Specifications

– 2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R is now available at a starting price of Rs 85,234.

– The bike comes equipped with single-channel ABS system.

– It also gets LED headlamp, revised instrument console and new graphics.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has silently increased prices of the new CB Hornet 160R by Rs 559. The bike was launched at a starting price of Rs 84,675, and now it costs Rs 85,234 for the Standard variant. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. Available in four variants – Standard, CBS, ABS and ABS Deluxe, the 2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R receives the full LED headlamp (segment-first) and single-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system).

The bike’s updated model also features revised instrument cluster and new body graphics along with a new paint scheme. However, the powertrain remains unchanged – i.e. 14.9bhp, 162.7cc air-cooled unit. The 2018 Honda CB Hornet continues to take on the TVS Apache RTR 160, Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and Yamaha FZ-S. Just so you know, the new Hornet was first previewed at the 2018 Auto Expo along with all-new X Blade 160cc motorcyclenew CBR250R, Activa 5G and PCX Electric Scooter.

The updated version of the bike was launched in March, 2018 with minor updates such as full LED headlamp, new body graphics and single-channel ABS. These changes have made the 2018 CB Hornet 160R more expensive (around Rs 2,316 – Rs 5,852) than the previous model. In May 2018, the bikemaker has announced a price hike across the Hornet lineup. Now, the Standard variant is available at Rs 85,234 and the CBS model costs Rs 89,734. The ABS Standard and ABS Deluxe are priced at Rs 90,734 and Rs 93,234 respectively. One must note that the aforementioned prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

As mentioned in the beginning, the new Honda CB Hornet 160R uses the same 162.71cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine benefited with HET (Honda Eco Technology). Composed of lightweight materials, the HET system enhances engine’s power and fuel efficiency. It also reduces friction in engine components. This motor can produce a top power of 14.9bhp at 8,500rpm, while generating a peak torque of 14.5Nm at 6,500rpm. Power is delivered to wheels via a 5-speed gearbox.

Honda claims that the bike can attain a top speed of 110kmph. For performing damping duties, the bike gets the same telescopic front and monoshock rear unit. The 2018 CB Hornet 160 derives its stopping power from the 276mm petal disc front and 130mm drum/220mm petal disc (CBS) rear brakes. 2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R ABS Design

Designed on diamond frame, the 2018 CB Hornet features new body graphics. It’s the first bike in its segment to get full LED headlamp. The instrument cluster has also been revised. The bike sits on the 100/80-17 front and 140/70-17 rear tyres. The kerb weight of the 2018 Hornet stands at 138kgs (140kgs – CBS) and it offers a fuel tank capacity of 12.0-litres. The bike has a wheelbase of 1,346mm and a ground clearance of 164mm. The overall length, width and height of the Hornet measure 2,041mm, 783mm and 1,067mm respectively. The 2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R comes in choice of five colour schemes, namely, the new Dazzle Yellow Metallic along with Striking Green, Mars Orange, Athletic Blue Metallic and Sports Red.
