Force Motors is planning to give an update to its popular off-roader – Grukha. Recently, a heavily camouflaged prototype of the 2018 Force Gurkha Xplorer was spotted during its test rounds. Painted in Matte Black shade, the SUV features a snorkel enhancing its deep fording capabilities. Most of the design updates are likely to be made on the front fascia of the vehicle.
Just so you know, the Pune-based automaker introduced the updated Gurkha with BSIV complaint engine and minor cosmetic and mechanical updates in March, 2017. Currently, the SUV is available in three variants – Xpedition 4X2, Xplorer 4X4 and Xplorer 4X4.
2018 Force Gurkha Xplorer Launch Date

2018 Force Gurkha Xplorer Price in India
Currently, the Gurkha SUV is available in the price range of Rs 8.45 lakh to Rs 11.48 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The facelited model will witness minor design upgrades, while the features and engine will remain unchanged. 2018 Force Gurkha Xplorer Specifications
Mechanically, the 2018 Force Gurkha Xplorer is likely to use the same 2.6-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This powertrain generates a top power of 84bhp at 3,200rpm and 230Nm of torque between 1,400rpm – 2,400rpm.
The four-wheel drive system with low range and locking differentials in the front and rear will also remain unchanged. Similar to the current model, the new Gurkha will an independent front and a multi-link rear suspension setup with gas-charged shock absorbers and anti-roll bars at both ends. 2018 Force Gurkha Xplorer Exterior & Interior
The 2018 model year will retain the original design and dimensions. As of now, the details are scanty. Though, it is likely to receive most of the update at the front end. It might feature a new grille and a new steel bumper with fog lamps. The taillamp enclosures will also be revised. Inside, the SUV will see a new steering wheel and gear lever. Though, the list of feature will be carried over from the current model. It will continue to be available two body styles – 3-doors with soft-top or hard-top and 5/6/8 seats layouts and 5-door with 7/9 seat configurations.
