The 2017 Volvo V40 and V40 Cross Country receive significant design upgrades with a range of new features.

Swedish luxury auto major, Volvo has introduced the new Volvo V40 and V40 Cross Country (CC) in India at Rs 25.49 lakh and Rs 27.2 lakh respectively. Both the models are available in two variants – V40 D3 R-Design, V40 D3 Kinetic and V40 CC D3 Inscription and V40 CC T4 Momentum. The 2017 Volvo V40 and V40 Cross Country receive significant design upgrades with a range of new features.

Talking about the exterior, the V40 twins look more or less similar to their previous models. Though, the cars now feature a new waterfall design grille with large signature badge at the centre, inspired from the S90 and XC90. What mark a major difference are Volvo’s signature Thor’s Hammer headlights, earlier which were available only on the company’s flagship models. Colour options for the new V40 include Passion Red Solid, Ice White Solid, Osmium Grey Metallic, Bursting Blue Metallic, Crystal Whilte Pearl, Onyx Black and Bright Silver Metallic. On the other hand, the new V40 Cross Country is available in Denim Blue, Raw Copper, Rich Java, Osmium Grey, Passion Red Solid, Crystal Whilte Pearl and Onyx Black shades. New 2017 Volvo V40 Cross Country

While the 2017 Volvo V40 comes with three leather trims options, the new V40 Cross Country is offered with five leather trims including a dual-tone shade. Similar to the regular Volvo cars the 2017 V40 and V40 CC host a range of advanced safety features including Pedestrian Airbag (first-in-the-industry), 2-stage front airbags with drivers knee bag, safety cage, pretensioners for front seats, emergency brake assist with ABS, dynamic stability & traction control and side impact and whiplash protection.

Powering both the 2017 Volvo V40 and V40 Cross Country is the same 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. This power mill produces a peak power of 150bhp and 320Nm of torque. It offers a top speed of 200kmph. Besides launching the new V40 twins, the Swedish carmaker set up a new 3S showroom in Kochi – Kerala Volvo.

Commenting on the same, Tom von Bonsdorff, MD, Volvo Auto India said, “The Launch of V40 & V40 Cross Country today along with the new 3S facility in the heart of Kochi emphasises our commitment to garner a 10% segment share in the medium term. The car was well received when we launched the Cross Country in mid-2013 and the V40 in June 2015. With a refreshed look and even more features this version will find traction among young buyers across India. We are now geared up for leveraging the potential of the Kerala market with our new partner and 3S facility”.

“The state-of-the-art 3S facility is in the heart of Kochi. The showroom built on new Volvo Retail Experience is spread over 8000 sqft and the adjoining workshop equipped with latest experienced technicians will be able to attend to customers”, he added further.
