The 2017 Suzuki Gixxer range gets BSIV compliant engine, Automatic headlamp on (AHO), new body graphics and new colors.

Suzuki Motorcycle India has introduced the 2017 model year Gixxer and Gixxer SF alongside the new Access 125 in the country. All three vehicles receive BSIV-IV engine, AHO (Automatic headlamp on), new body graphics and new colours. The 2017 Suzuki Gixxer is available in two variants – Disc brake and Drum brake – priced at Rs 80,528 and Rs 77,452 (all, ex-showroom Delhi). On the other hand, the 2017 Suzuki Gixxer SF and SF Fi are available at Rs 89.659 and Rs 93,499 (all, eex-showroom Delhi) respectively.

While the Gixxer naked streetfighter version is available in two variants – Disc & Drum – priced at Rs 80,528 and Rs 77,452 respectively. The SF version is offered in both carburetted and Fuel injection technology, and both models cost Rs 89,659 and Rs 93,499, respectively.

The new Gixxer is powered by the same 154.9cc, single-cylinder SOHC engine that churns out a maximum power output of 14.5bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 14Nm at 6,000rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 5-speed gearbox. The fuel injection version improves its fuel efficiency and throttles response, and also eases start-up engine. 2017 Suzuki Gixxer, Gixxer SF Dimensions

The Gixxer naked version measures 2,050mm in length, 7,85mm in width and 1,030mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1,330mm. Dimensionally, the SF is similar to the naked sibling, except for the height. The Gixxer SF has 1,085mm height, which is around 55mm bigger than the regular variant. Both bikes feature a ground clearance of 160mm and a fuel tank capacity of 12-litre.

The regular Gixxer is available in three dual-tone shades including Pearl Mira Red and Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Triton Blue and Glass Sparkle Black, and Glass Sparkle Black. On the other hand, the Gixxer SF faired version is available in three colors – Metallic Triton Blue, Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Mat Black, and Pearl Mira Red.

Talking about Gixxer, the bike’s design is inspired from the bigger Suzuki GSX range. Features like sculpted fuel tank, unique headlamp and beefy exhaust gives it a performance bike look. The seat and handlebar offer a sporty riding position without compromising on comfort. Its digital instrument console sports speedometer, tachometer, odometer, fuel gauge, and the service reminder. The bike also has a programmable shift light. The 2017 model gets new automatic headlamp on (AHO), new sporty graphics and the Gixxer logo across the tank. Adding to it, the new model also gets clear lens LED tail lamps.

The Gixxer SF is basically the fully-faired version of the naked model. It also gets new graphics, automatic headlamp on and Gixxer SF logo across the tank. According to the company, the SF gets an aerodynamic sports fairing that offers a MotoGP inspired look. It is also claimed that the fairing is developed in the same wind tunnel which was used to develop fairings for the Hayabusa and MotoGP mean machines.
