Royal Enfield has introduced the 2017 Bullet 500 with a BS4 engine, AHO feature and a new colour option.

After updating the new Classic 500, Classic 350, Thunderbird 350 and Himalayan as per the BS4 norms, Royal Enfield has now introduced the 2017 Bullet 500 at Rs 1.62 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2017 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 BS4 features a more powerful engine along with AHO feature and a new Forest Green shade.

The 2017 RE Bullet 500 derives its power from a BS4, 499cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke air-cooled engine, which is now boosted with fuel injection technology instead of the carburetted system. This new BS4 engine is slightly more powerful and torquier than the BS3 version. The updated version dishes out a top power of  27.2bhp at 5,250rpm and 41.3Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Delivering power to the wheels is a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. The bike comes with both electric and kick start system. Besides this, the kerb weight of the motorcycle increased by 1kg. 2017 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 BS4 Design

The 2017 model year retains most of its design and styling elements from the BS3 version. The bike features headlamp with signature twin pilot lamps, which are referred as ‘Tiger Eye Lamps’. With more powerful halogen bulb, it provides better illumination. The bike also comes with the mandatory AHO (Automatic Headlamp On) feature. The long twin seat contoured is good for rider posture and comfort, even on long rides. The aesthetically designed new pillion grab-rain with cushion end adds more to its comfort level.

Besides this, the bike also gets a new Forest Green shade along with the regular Marsh Grey and Black paint schemes. Coming to the dimensions, the 2017 Bullet 500 measures 2,140mm in length, 790mm in width and 1,090 in height without mirrors. The bike sits on 1,360mm of wheelbase, and rides on new 19-inch MRF Zapper tyres. It carries a kerb weight of 194kg, and offers a fuel tank capacity of 13.5-litres. The new RE motorcycle has a ground clearance of 135mm.
