Unveiled at the Chengdu International Auto Show, the updated Hyundai Creta facelift (ix25 SUV) gets cosmetic design upgrades and new engine lineup

Hyundai, the South Korean automaker has unveiled the new Hyundai ix25 (Chinese-spec Hyundai Creta facelift) at the Chengdu International Auto Show. The updated model gets cosmetic design upgrades and a revised engine lineup. This model was earlier launched in Brazilian market, and it will go on sale in India in 2018.

The SUV comes equipped with slightly revised front fascia. It comes with a winged bumper design and slightly restyled grille that extends to the headlamps. While the new Verna gets the signature cascading grille, the 2017 Hyundai ix25 has the hexagonal grille with three horizontal chrome slats. At the back, the SUV gets a restyled rear bumper and new tail lamp graphics. It also comes equipped with a dual-pipe exhaust unit. The overall profile of the ix25 facelift is similar to the Brazilian spec model, but there is little difference in terms of design components. The Brazilian model is equipped wwith signature cascading grille and slightly different reflector/rear fog lamp area. The SUV also gets split spoke alloy wheels. The cabin of the Hyundai Creta facelift, showcased at the Chengdu Auto Show, gets a black theme. There is a contrasting red stitching on the seats and gear lever console, along with red highlights around the air conditioning vents. It also gets the slightly revised centre console. Hyundai ix25 facelift Side

The 2017 ix25 misses out on 2.0-litre petrol engine, but it continue to feature the 1.6-litre petrol unit. It also comes equipped with a new 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of producing 130bhp of power and 211Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic transmission options will be on offer. For the Chinese market, the SUV is priced between 10.98 million and 15.28 million CNY.
