Priced at Rs 55,799, the new 2017 Honda Shine gets new BSIV compliant 124cc engine paired to a 4-speed gearbox.

Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India has launched the BSIV compliant version of the Honda Shine in the country. It is available in three versions – Drum, Front Disc and CBS. While the Drum variant is tagged at Rs 55,799, the disc version costs Rs 58,125. The CBS variant of the 2017 Honda Shine is priced at Rs 61,047 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Powering the new 2017 Honda Shine is a 124.73cc BSIV compliant engine. This powertrain churns out a maximum power output of 10.16bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 10.30Nm at 5,500rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 4-speed gearbox. Equipped with HET technology, the Shine BSIV is claimed to have a top-speed of 93kmph. The motorcycle weighs just 123kgs, which contributes to its fuel efficiency. The bike returns a fuel efficiency of 65kmpl.

Talking about changes, the new Shine gets new body graphics and chrome cover for the exhaust muffler and carburettor. Tubeless tyres and drum brakes are offered as standard. The top-end variant is equipped with Combined Brake System while the mid-variant is equipped with a 240mm front disc. The suspension mechanism of the bike comprises of telescopic forks up front and a 5-step adjustable dual shock absorbers at the rear. With a ground clearance of 157mm, the bike can tackle Indian road conditions. It comes with a fuel tank of 10.5-litres. Honda is also offering a range of accessories with the new Shine that includes front guard assy in black and chrome, seat cover, side box assy, helmet lock single, body cover, wheel rim sticker, saddle bag assy, etc. Dimensionally, the Shine measures 2012mm in length, 762mm in width and 1,090mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1266mm. It comes with a ground clearance of 157mm. The bike rides on 18-inch wheels shod with 80/100-18 tyres at front and rear.
