After launching the 2017 Activa 4G and Aviator scooters, Honda Two Wheeler has now launched the 2017 Honda Dio scooter in the Indian market. The new model gets BSIV compliant engine along with some cosmetic and feature upgrades. Like new Activa, the scooter also gets Automatic Headlamp On (AHO) function. The BSIV compliant Dio is priced at INR 49,132 (ex-showroom, Delhi). As a reminder, the previous model was tagged at Rs 48,651.
The scooter gets new front apron and new lighting system, which appears like DRLs over the apron. It also comes with a new exterior paint jobs – Yellow with grey accents and new orange/matte grey shade/. The scooter also gets new body graphics. Powering the scooter is the same 109.20cc engine that is good for 8bhp of power at 7,000rpm and 8.77Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. 2017 Honda Dio Price
With BSIV compliant engine and new features, the facelift Dio saw a slight price hike. While the previous model was tagged at Rs 48,651, the new model is tagged at Rs 49,132 (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
2017 Honda Dio Specifications
The new Dio is powered by the same 109.20cc engine that powers the previous model, but it is now a BSIV compliant engine. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power output of 8bhp at 7,000rpm and a peak torque of 8.77Nm at 5,500rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a CVT unit. The previous model was claimed to have a top speed of 83kmph, which is likely to remain unchanged with the new model as well.

This scooter is one of the lightest scooters in its league, which helps to achieve high fuel efficiency. The new model is claimed to have a mileage of 62kmpl, making it one of the most fuel efficient in its league.

The new model is available in 5 exterior paint jobs – Pearl Sports Yello, Vibrand Orange, Sports Red, Matte Axis Grey (Metallic) and Candy Jazzy Blue.
2017 Honda Dio Design & Features
This moto scooter measures 1,781mm in length, 710mm in width and 1,133mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,238mm. It comes with a seat height of 765mm. The updated model gets visual exterior upgrades, which makes it look refreshing. It is equipped with a revised front apron and new lighting element. The lighting system seems like a daytime running lights fitted over the front apron.
The 2017 Dio gets two new exterior paint jobs – yellow shade with grey accents and orange with matte grey. The scooter also gets new body graphics to offer a refreshing look. This model also features Automatic Headlamp ON (AHO) function that all two-wheelers will need to have mandatorily from April 2017. There is no switch to turn off the headlight as the headlight turns on as soon as engine starts. Other features include a mobile charging socket, 10-inch wheels with tubeless tyres and drum brakes. It also comes equipped with Honda’s patented Combined Braking System with Equalizer.
