2017 Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled is available in two shades – Red Duck and White Mirage – priced at Rs 9.32 lakh and Rs 9.45 lakh (ex-showroom Pan India).

Ducati, the Italian bike maker has launched the 2017 Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled in the Indian two wheeler market. Besides, the company has also introduced the Euro 4 versions of the Scrambler Classic and the Scrambler Icon. The new Desert Sled model is priced at Rs 9.32 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India). The new model draws its inspiration from the off-road bikes of the 60s and 70s that made US motorcycling history in the mountains and deserts of California. Powering the new 2017 Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled is the Euro 4-compliant, twin-cylinder 803cc air and oil-cooled engine that is paired to a six-speed gearbox. This engine is capable of producing 75bhp of power at 8,250rpm and 68Nm of torque at 5,750rpm. The new model also introduces a new throttle control and an all-new engine calibration that improves power delivery at the bottom end of the rev range.

The 2017 Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled comes equipped with modified frame and suspension, high-positioned mudguards, type-approved headlight mesh guard and engine skid plate that improves the overall off-road capability. The company claims that this motorcycle is the evolution of the Urban Enduro version towards a more functional off-road style. It comes with 200mm extended travel on the front and rear suspension, higher seat and off-road foot pegs with removable rubber pads, which gives it a new riding position. The bike rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels shod with new Pirelli Scorpio Rally STR tyres. These tyres have been specially designed to offer high performance of both off-road and an enduro street tyre. For braking system, the bike has Brembo brakes that feature a Bosch 9.1 MP ABS system with pressure sensor. The front wheel has a single 330 mm disc and a 4-piston Brembo M4.32B monobloc calliper while the rear features a 245 mm disc gripped by a 32 mm diameter piston caliper. Staying true to the Scrambler family and inspiration from the ’60s and ’70s, California motorcycle scene, the Desert Sled reinforces the pure essence of motorcycling: two wheels, wide handlebars, a straightforward engine and endless fun. The bike is perfect for the city and to get off the tarmac and explore the road less travelled.”

The company has also introduced dedicated accessory and apparel line for the 2017 Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled. It is available with two versions – Red Dusk and White Mirage – priced at Rs 9.32 lakh and Rs 9.45 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. The White Mirage shade also has black frame and spoked wheels with gold rims.

The Scrambler Icon and Scrambler Classic with Euro 4 engines are priced at Rs 7.23 lakh and Rs 8.48 lakh respectively. Bookings for Scramblers are now open and the motorcycles are available across all dealerships in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Ahmedabad and Kochi.
