Toyota will unveil the next generation Innova MPV next year. The vehicle has been spotted testing by Youtube user ‘Sanjay Rao’. The next-gen Innova is likely to make its Indian debut at the 2016 Delhi Motor Show alongside the next Fortuner SUV.
The 2016 Toyota Innova will use an all-new ladder-frame chassis instead of the monocoque architecture. The video suggest that the new model largely resembles the current generation model. However, the MPV seems to have grown in length while the overall height and width likely to remain unchanged. The third row seats sections looks longer than the outgoing model, indicating a more spacious third row cabin space.
The spotted vehicle was fully covered; however, it shows that the new Innova will get Toyota’s new design language, which was first seen on the new Corolla sedan. The new model flaunts new Corolla-like LED daytime running lights. Its new front fascia features larger and wider grille flanked by flared and sleeker headlamps. The interiors of the new MPV are likely to get new seat upholstery and dashboard layout. It is also expected to be more spacious than the current model, and offers lot more gizmos to play with.
The next-gen Innova will get a new diesel engine, which will be more fuel efficient and offers better NVH levels than the outgoing model. Moreover, the new diesel unit will be paired to automatic gearbox as well. It will rival against the likes of Nissan Evalia, Honda Mobilio RS and Tata Aria.
