Chevrolet has released a teaser image of the upcoming 2016 Spark (Beat in India) hatchback. The next model is scheduled to be unveiled on April 2nd, 2015 in Seoul and New York Auto Show. The 2016 Spark/Beat has already been caught completely naked, showing the vehicle adopts an evolutionary designed compared to the outgoing model.
Based on the Opel Karl / Vauxhall Viva, the next Spark has rear door handles mounted near the C-pillars as available on the current model. The hatchback features the familiar lower hexagonal and upper grilles, new large headlamps and fog lamps. The side profile of the car is equipped with aggressive lines that run across the length of the car.
Chevrolet is yet to announce the technical specifications of the hatchback. It is expected that the hatchback is powered by a naturally aspirated three-cylinder 1.0-litre engine that produces 75bhp. Power is transmitted to front wheels of the car via a five-speed manual gearbox. The Spark siblings Karl or Viva weighs just 939kg, and are claimed to return an impressive 23.2kmpl of mileage with CO2 emissions rated at 99g/km.
The hatchback is likely to measure around 3680mm long with 2385mm of wheelbase. The car will offer around 1,000 litres of boot space with rear seats folded. It will be equipped with features like cruise control, sunroof, heated seats and steering wheel, park assist and new infotainment system.
