2015 Renault Duster launched at Rs. 8.30 lakh; gets new features

Renault India has launched the updated Duster SUV in the country. Loaded with new features, the base version of the SUV is priced at Rs. 8.30 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). While the SUV looks largely the same, the cabin gets a series of new features.

The exterior changes are subtle which include smoked headlamps, body coloured door handles and rear view mirrors. Majority of the upgrades are given to the cabin. The car now features an armrest, new gear shift indicator and a new multi-information display with service reminders. Adding to it, the SUV comes with a segment leading ECO mode features, speed limited and cruise control.

The 2015 Duster gets new steering column, new instrument cluster and a speed sensitive door lock. Overall fabric quality has been improved, and the Duster now looks more up-market. The company has also worked upon the cabin experience, and the car now offers lower NVH levels. Rest of the car remains unchanged, while the regular features on the standard model have been share with previous model. It is equipped with rear air conditioning unit with independent controls for rear seat occupants, stereo system, power windows, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, etc. The safety features include ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with ESP, Anti-Slip regulation, airbags, etc.

Under the hood, the Renault Duster remains unchanged. The SUV is powered by the same 1.5-litre k9K diesel engine that offers two states of tunes- 84bhp/204Nm and 110bhp/250Nm. The petrol version gets the 1.6-litre four-pot unit that produces 103bhp and 145Nm of torque.

The company claimed that the diesel engines are tuned for more efficiency. The lower spec diesel motor is claimed to deliver 19.87kmpl mileage, while the powerful motor delivers 19.64kmpl.
