Volvo Auto India, the fully-owned subsidiary of the Swedish luxury carmaker Volvo AG, has launched the new face lifted version of its flagship S80 saloon in the Indian car market. The new model has been priced at Rs. 41.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The styling of the saloon looks similar to previous car; however, it gets some styling tweaks. The most visible change is given to the front fascia which now has new smaller and wider grille with shrunk. Its front bumper has been restyled and the headlights come with daytime running lamps. The side profile looks similar to its predecessor and it comes with newly designed alloy wheels. At the back, the rear gets a slightly tweaked bumper.
On the inside, the Volvo S80 gets a slightly updates dash with an all-black color scheme which comes with some wooden inserts. The vehicle gets minimum switches which are easier to handle. It comes fitted to a digital instrument cluster which can be customized to display information connected to fuel economy or performance.
The new S80 is offered with diesel engine options in the D4 and D5 variants. The D4 version gets the 2.0-litre, in-line 5-cylinder engine that churns out a maximum power output of 165PS and 400Nm of top torque. The top-of-the line D5 has 2.4-litre diesel engine producing 215PS of top power and 440Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a six-speed autobox which transmits power to wheels. It accelerates to 100kmph from zero on mere 7.8 seconds and catches a top speed of 225kmph. It offers a combined fuel economy of 12.5kmpl.

The Volvo S80 facelift features an advanced ESP and headlamps that automatically adjusts while taking corners and Volvo’s Intellisafe function which applies brakes automatically when car senses an accident. Additionally, the vehicle gets pedestrian and cyclist detection with full auto brake. Its digital instrument cluster comes with active TFT crystal display with 3 graphics theme- Elegance, Eco and Performance.
