2014 Volkswagen Vento facelift India launch in festive season

Volkswagen India has recently introduced the Polo facelift and is now ready to launch the updated Vento in the Indian car market. The Vento facelift is likely to go on sale this festive season. The overall styling of this model is likely to remain unchanged; however, the vehicle will get subtle changes to both interiors and exteriors. Moreover, the company is also working on new generation Polo and Vento which is likely to go on sale in 2015-16.

The Volkswagen Vento facelift gets changes to both interiors and exteriors. It will get new front fascia which include new bumper, restyled grille complemented by large sweptback headlamps. The model will also feature lots of chrome that runs across the grille bottom of the fog lamps. Its top-spec model is likely to get LED lights as an optional feature. At the back, the vehicle is likely to feature reworked bumper and tail lamp assembly.

Inside the cabin, the Vento facelift will feature new centre console and the electro-mechanical steering wheel. Instrument panel will get new graphics and the infotainment system is likely to be updated. The fabric, switch gears, storage spaces and other equipment levels will remain unchanged.

The updated Vento will be powered by the new 1.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine that also powers the Polo facelift. This engine is capable of developing a top power output of 109PS and a peak torque of 250Nm. This engine will be paired to either five-speed manual or a DSG automatic gearbox. The petrol version will get the same 1.6-litre engine producing 103bhp and 153Nm. The GT TSI model will continue to be powered by 1.2-litre turbocharged engine that develops 13bhp and 175Nm. The petrol version is coupled to five-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the 1.2L TSI is paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic.
