We reported earlier that Volkswagen is planning to launch the VW Vento facelift in the Indian car market by festive season. Moreover, the company will also introduce the automatic diesel variant of the sedan. The Vento diesel variant with the DSG automatic gearbox has been spotted at a fuel station.
The 2014 Volkswagen Vento facelift is likely to get a 1.5-litre diesel engine that is capable of producing 104bhp of top power. This motor will be paired to a six-speed DSG transmission which sends the power to front wheels of the sedan. This engine will come as a replacement for the 1.6-litre TDI motor. The 1500cc engine will help the company to price the diesel variant of the Vento competitive. We expect the new model to cost around Rs. 50,000 less than the current generation model.
The front fascia of the spotted vehicle was heavily camouflaged, indicating that the majority of the changes is given to the bumper and bonnet of the car. The vehicle is likely to get new front which include new bumper, restyled grille complemented by sharper headlamps. The vehicle is likely to get dual-slat chrome grille. The top-spec model is also expected to feature LED lights as an optional feature. Its rear is also likely to get reworked bumper and tail lamp assembly.
The interiors of the Vento facelift is also expected to get subtle upgrades. It will get a new centre console and the new multi-functional steering wheel. The instrument panel will also get new graphics while the sedan also feature updated infotainment system. The new Vento will compete against the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna and soon to be launched Maruti Ciaz.
