Japanese car manufacturer Toyota is gearing up to launch the much-anticipated new 2014 Corolla Altis in the Indian car market. Unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, the vehicle will make its official debut on May, 27th. The bookings for the 11th generation sedan have already been commenced. Moreover, the company has bagged around 1,300 bookings for the car.
The 2014 Toyota Corolla will be made available in both petrol and diesel guise. While the petrol version of the sedan gets the 1.8-litre 4-cylinder motor that produces 138bhp and a peak torque of 173Nm, the oil burner will sport the same 1.4-litre D-4D engine producing 87bhp and 215Nm of torque. Both engines are paired with six-speed manual transmission gearbox which transmits the power to front wheel of the sedan. However, the petrol model also gets a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
The new Toyota Corolla is 4,620mm long, 1,776mm wide and 1,475mm high, and it has a large wheelbase of 2,700mm which in return offers a spacious cabin. This model will be offered in nine variants- five petrol and four diesel variants. The top-spec model will get full LED’s, rear reclining seats, a 7.1-inch infotainment system with integrated navigation, push start button, reverse parking sensors with camera and others.
