Skoda India is all set to launch the new Yeti facelift on September 10 in the Indian car market. After the launch of new Yeti, the Czech automaker will introduce the facelifted Rapid sedan. According to Overdrive India, the company is planning to offer a host of changes to Rapid and the vehicle will go on sale in India in October. Interestingly, the new Skoda Rapid will get the new 1.5-litre Turbo diesel motor that also powers the Polo hatchback and soon to be launched Vento. Moreover, the new Rapid will also get the 1.2-litre TSI engine. Until now, the company is not offering the GT version of the Rapid sedan but the company is now aiming to offer the updated model with 1.2-litre TSI motor producing 103bhp. The 1.5-litre turbo diesel motor is likely to offer two states of tune- 90PS/220Nm with a manual gearbox and 105PS/250Nm mated to a DSG gearbox. Moreover, the company is also planning to introduce 150PS petrol automatic variant of this model.
The Skoda Rapid facelift will also get a series of updates to both interiors and exteriors. The vehicle is likely to get projector headlamps and body kit to add sporty character. Moreover, the Rapid facelift is likely to cost lesser than the Vento facelift.
