American automaker Ford is gearing up to launch the 2014 Fiesta facelift in the Indian car market. If media reports to believe, the company will introduce this car next month and it will come in diesel version only. Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi motor show, the details about the new Fiesta are already available on the company’s official site. With upmarket interiors and appealing looks, Ford India is aiming to improve its sales in the growing mid-sized sedan segment.
The 2014 Ford Fiesta facelift is said to be offered in three trim levels- Ambiente, Trend and Titanium. Initially, this model will only come with diesel powertrain. Under the hood, the vehicle will get the 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 90bhp. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission gearbox. At a later stage, the company might also introduce the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine that also powers the EcoSport SUV. This engine produces 123bhp of top power. The standard 1.5-litre petrol engine is also expected to power this model.
The new 2014 Ford Fiesta will come with a host of comfort and convenience features. It includes fog lamps for clear visibility in darkness, automatic climate control, cruise control, guide me home lamps, height adjustable driver seat, remote locking, electrically adjustable ORVMs, entry start/stop button, automatic headlamps and wipers. Inside, the vehicle will get leather wrapped steering wheel, integrated music system, ambient cabin lighting, split-folding rear seats and others.
For passengers’ safety & security, the new Fiesta gets keyless rear parking sensors, Sync with the ‘Emergency Assist’ safety features, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution), dual airbags and few more.
