20,000 New Hyundai Creta Booked So Far

The new-generation Hyundai Creta has been quite a buzz even before its launch. The premium SUV gathered over 14,000 pre-bookings ahead of its official price announcement. Speaking to carandbike, Tarun Garg, Director- Sales, Marketing & Service, Hyundai Motor India, has revealed that the 2020 Hyundai Creta received around 18,000 bookings right before the lockdown period.

Out of the total bookings received by the carmaker, 75% are for the new Creta. With this, the next-generation Creta bookings have reached close to 20,000 units. Deliveries of the vehicle will be commenced post lockdown. The carmaker shipped 6,703 units of the new Creta last month and now aims to dispatch over 10,000 units per month to its dealers across the nation.

The SUV’s new-generation model comes in 5 trims – E, EX, S, SX & SX (O) three powertrain options. The diesel model is packed with a 1.5L motor pushing out a maximum power of 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. There are two petrol engines – a naturally aspirated 1.5L and a 1.4L GDI turbo. While the former delivers 113bhp against 144Nm of torque, the latter one is good for 138bhp and 250Nm. The 1.5L gasoline unit comes with a 6-speed manual and an iVT automatic gearbox option. A 7-speed DCT transmission is exclusively offered with the turbo-petrol engine.

Prices of the 2020 Hyundai Creta diesel start from Rs 9.99 lakh for the entry-level E variant and go up to Rs 17.20 lakh for the fully-loaded SX (O) trim. The turbo-petrol SX and SX (O) variants are made available at Rs 16.16 lakh and Rs 17.20 lakh respectively. The 1.5L petrol version costs between Rs 9.99 lakh – Rs 16.15 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
