2018 Honda CR-V Red

New Hyundai Santro will officially go on sale on October 23, 2018.

2 of the most awaited new cars – new Hyundai Santro and 2018 Honda CR-V SUV – will be introduced for Indian market tomorrow. While Honda will launch the new CR-V, Hyundai will unveil the new Santro before its official launch on October 23, 2018.

Just to jog your memory, Honda had showcased the new-generation CR-V at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. For the first time, the CR-V SUV is available in 7-seater avatar. Moreover, the SUV will also get a diesel engine option. It will be available with 2 engine options – a 153bhp, 2.0-litre i-VTEC petrol and a 118bhp, 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel. While the petrol engine is paired to a CVT automatic unit, the diesel engine comes mated to a 9-speed ZF automatic gearbox. The petrol CR-V will also be offered in 5-seat version. Talking about Hyundai Santro, the small hatchback will be brand’s new entry-level hatchback. This means that the Eon will be phased out in near future. The new Santro will be equipped with several segment-first features including rear air-conditioning vents and a large 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Adding to it, the small car will also get reverse parking camera. The new Santro will be powered by a 67bhp, 1.1-litre petrol engine.

The new Hyundai Santro is based on the modified i10’s platform and will meet the upcoming crash test norms. The hatchback will rival the likes of Tata Tiago and Maruti Suzuki Celerio. If reports are to be believed, the hatchback will be priced under Rs 4 lakh for the base variant. Going by the spy images, it is visible that the small car shares a lot of design cues from the Grand i10.
