Maruti Suzuki is ready to expand its product portfolio with a range of new models (including 3 new SUVs) next year. In January 2023, the carmaker will showcase the Baleno Cross compact SUV, Jimny 5-door lifestyle SUV and a new MPV. All three SUVs will be put up on display at the Delhi Auto Expo. The Maruti Baleno Cross will be the first one to hit roads, followed by the Jimny and the three-row MPV. Besides this, the company will soon roll out the Maruti Baleno Alpha CNG variant. Maruti Baleno Alpha CNG
The Indo-Japanese automaker recently introduce the Maruti Baleno hatchback with a factory-fitted CNG kit. It has been offered in Delta and Zeta variants at Rs 8.28 lakh and Rs 9.21 lakh respectively. In order to attract wider customer base, the company is now considering to launch the range-topping Alpha CNG variant. The model will use the same 1.2L, 4-cylinder K12N petrol engine. In CNG mode, it offers power worth 77.5bhp and 98.5Nm of torque. The CNG version will offer a boot space of 55-litres. It will be made available with a 5-speed manual gearbox only. Maruti Baleno Cross
Maruti Baleno Cross might witness a market launch in the month of February next year. Based on the Heartect platform, the compact SUV will mark return of the brand’s 1.0L Boosterjet engine in its BS6-compliant avatar. The motor is likely be boosted with the mild hybrid technology and deliver power worth 102bhp and 150Nm of torque. Transmissions on offer could be a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic unit. The model might also be made available with a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine or a 1.5L Dualjet petrol motor. The Baleno Cross will be retailed via Nexa dealerships and it’s estimated to be priced between Rs 8 lakh – Rs 11 lakh. More details here…
