On 7th October 2022, Hero MotoCorp will introduce its first electric scooter and Mahindra & Mahindra will launch the XUV300 Sportz variant. Here’re key details of both the upcoming models.
Hero Vida Electric Scooter
The home-grown two-wheeler maker is ready to roll out its first 1st electric scooter under its Vida sub-brand. The model has been designed and developed at the company’s Jaipur-based R&D centre. Specifications of the electric scooter are yet to be revealed. Though, it’s expected to deliver a top speed of around 25kmph. The company has confirmed that the e-scooter will come with the swappable battery technology. Hero will setup battery swapping infrastructure with its Taiwan-based – Gogoro – partner. In the first phase, the two-wheeler maker will establish charging stations in Bengaluru, Delhi and 7 more cities. Every charging station will have both DC and AC charger options. More details here…
Mahindra XUV300 Sportz
The Mahindra XUV300 Sportz, the sportier version of the subcompact SUV, will come with the more powerful 1.2L T-GDI turbo petrol engine. The motor pushes out a peak power of 130PS and 230Nm of torque. Compared to the existing petrol unit, the new one is 20PS more powerful and 30Nm torqueier. The more powerful petrol engine is likely to be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The latest leaked image reveal that the model will have gloss black finish on the front grille, ORVMs and roof. The red stripes on the air dam further enhance its sportier appearance. Unlike the concept that was equipped with the 17-inch wheels, the production-ready version is likely to come with the same 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Inside, the XUV300 Sportz is likely to have all-black theme. Since it will be based on the top-end W8 variant, the new model will come with the similar set of features. More details here…
