Besides introducing all-new models, car manufacturers will update their existing product lineup by giving mid-life updates to their popular cars and SUVs. Upcoming Maruti Cars
India’s leading passenger vehicle maker, Maruti Suzuki will bring in the updated Baleno (February), Ertiga (March) and XL6 (May) in the first half of 2022. The Ciaz sedan and S-Cross crossover model lineups might also be updated with a new 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The same transmission units will also be offered on the new Ertiga and XL6. The Maruti WagonR facelift is likely to arrive in the second half of this year.

Upcoming Hyundai Cars
The South Korean automaker is planning to update its three popular SUVs this year including Venue, Creta and Kona. While the new Venue is reported to arrive by mid 2022, the Creta and Kona EV facelifts will be launched in the second half of 2022. Hyundai’s electric SUV might be offered with a larger battery pack.

Mahindra & Mahindra is reported to introduce the updated Bolero with new colours and dual airbags in coming months. The brand’s popular XUV300 compact SUV will also receive a midlife updated in the second half of this year. This time around, the model might be offered with a more powerful engine option.

Upcoming Toyota Cars
Toyota Kirloskar Motor is ready to update the Glanza hatchback (Baleno-based) and Urban Cruiser (Brezza-based) SUV this year. Both models will receive minor cosmetic and feature upgrades, while their engine setups will remain unchanged.

The 2022 Kia Seltos facelift testing has already begin in the country. The updated model carry Kia’s new Opposite United design philosophy along with a few design changes. It might get new interior colour and connectivity features, while the engine and gearbox options remain unchanged.
MG ZS EV
The new MG ZS EV facelift is reported to see a release in February 2022. The new model could be offered with a bigger 51kWh battery pack offering a range around 480km. It might borrow some features from the Astor SUV including ADAS, wireless phone charging, a digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. A few cosmetic changes will also be made to the electric SUV.
