At the heart of the new 2021 Tata Safari is the same 2.0-litre Kryotec turbocharged diesel engine that does duty in the Harrier. The oil burner pushes out a peak power of 170bhp and 350Nm of torque. Similar to the Harrier, the three-row SUV comes with the 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox options.

The new Safari underpins the Land Rover-derived Omega architecture that’s compatible to the 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system and electric powertrains. Currently, the new Tata 7-seater SUV is available with the 2WD drivetrain system. The model lineup might receive new 4×4 variants at a later stage.

The new Tata three-row SUV can be had with either 6-seats layout with a bench seat in the middle row or the 7-seats configuration with captain’s seats in the second row. It has new Black and Beige interior theme with design similar to the Harrier.

The new Safari comes equipped with a 7.0-inch digital display in the instrument cluster, an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with iRA connected car tech, an electronic parking brake, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, a panoramic sunroof, terrain response modes, xenon HID headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, 6 airbags and many more.
