The company confirmed that the electric SUV will go on sale in the second half of 2019. The vehicle was first previewed at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, and made its India debut at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. Initially, only 1000 units of the Kona electric SUV will be sold in India.
The Hyundai Kona electric SUV is estimated to be priced between Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh. If the vehicle gets subsidized under the Government’s new EV policy, the SUV could be priced competitively. Though, it won’t have any direct competition in the country. In global markets, it locks horns against the Toyota CH-R, Nissan Juke and Honda HRV. Read: Hyundai Kona SUV – What To Expect
