The new Hyundai Verna hatchback looks largely identically to the new generation Verna sedan, which is already on sale in China. As a reminder, the Verna sedan will be launched in India in 2017. It comes with a new rear while the tail-lamps are inspired from the 2017 Hyundai i30.
The cabin of the sedan has been sourced from the new 2017 Hyundai Verna. It is equipped with multi-functional steering wheel, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, etc.
Like the styling and features, the new Verna shares the engine specs with the new Verna sedan. It will come in two engine options that include a 1.4-litre four-cylinder and 1.6- litre four-cylinder.
The 1.4-litre engine is capable of producing 100bhp of power while the 1.6-litre engine churns out 123bhp of power. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic unit.
Hyundai is already selling the Elite i20 hatchback, and there is no possibility of the launch of the new Verna hatchback. The hatchback will also go on sale in the American market in 2018 as Accent hatch.
