New Honda City Facelift Explained In 6 Quick Points – Photo Story

  • Honda Cars India has finally introduced the 2017 City facelift in India at a starting price of Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is more or less similar to the old one. The new City petrol comes within the range of Rs 8.49 lakh – Rs 13.52 lakh, while the diesel models cost between Rs 10.75 lakh – Rs 13.56 lakh. Aforementioned prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

  • Exterior – The 2017 Honda City receives subtle design changes including new bolder grille with a thick chrome strip, revised headlamp cluster with LED DRLs, re-designed bumper, larger air-dams, boot-mounted spoiler and high mounted stop lamp. Save for the new diamond cut alloys and auto folding door mirrors (first-in-segment), the side profile of the sedan remains unchanged.

  • Colours – The saloon’s new model comes in five exciting shades - Modern Steel Metallic, Carnelian red Pearl, White Orchid Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic and Albaster Silver Metallic.

  • The cabin of the new Honda City remains the same as the outgoing car. It comes equipped with an all-black layout with gun metal trim on the dashboard. The centre console gets gloss black garnish and bright silver accents.

  • Engines – Under the hood, the new Honda City continues to feature the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine. While the petrol mill belts out 99bhp with 200Nm, the diesel motor makes 118bhp with 145Nm. The saloon’s V, VX and ZX petrol trims have been made available with CVT gearbox option, and rest variants comes with a 5-speed manual transmission.

  • Mileage – The new Honda City is as fuel efficient as the old as the engine lineup remains unchanged. The petrol version with manual and CVT gearbox delivers 17.4kmpl and 18kmpl respectively. On the other hand, the diesel model returns a claimed mileage of 25.6kmpl.
