Hyundai has recently revealed the much-awaited Kona compact SUV for the global markets. In order to further increase the excitment, the South Korean auto giant has revealed a special edition of the Kona based on the Iron Man theme.
This special edition model design inspiration comes from Marvel's Iron Man. Going by the pictures, it seems like a showcase model. However, Hyundai has confirmed that the Kona Iron Man Edition is a production car and will go on sale.
The vehicle gets dual-tone body paint with matte grey offered on most of the car, complimented by shiny red accents. The overall paint job is inspired by the Star Industries armoured suit. It also has leaner side mirrors caps and retractable door handles.
The Kona Iron Man Edition is 40mm wider than the standard version. The flared wheel arches of the SUV have been fitted to bigger 19-inch bidirectional alloy wheels. The fatter off-roading tyres further gives it a sporty profile.
The exterior of the car gets restyled LED lights for headlamps and gold accent on the bonnet. The reason behind introducing this edition is the Triathlon Ironman World Championship contested in the place called KONA in Hawaii.
The standard variant will go on sale in the international markets towards the end of this year. The Kona could also make its way to Indian market in near future. Hyundai has also confirmed that it will launch a smaller A-segment crossover and an electric version by 2018.
