The Italian sportscar manufacturer, Ferrari has revealed its most powerful series’ production model – Ferrari 812 Superfast. The news that will interest you more is that the 812 Superfast has snatched the title of the most powerful, fastest and high performance Ferrari from the F12 Berlinetta grand tourer.
What makes the 812 Superfast Ferrari’s quickest and powerful roadcar ever is its mighty 6.5-litre V12 engine. Maximum power and torque of 789bhp and 719Nm dished out from 8,500rpm to 7,000rpm respectively. This front-mounted V12 engine has a displacement of 6496cc.
The 2018 Ferrari 812 Superfast comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that delivers power to the rear wheels. The 0-62mph dash is despatched in just 2.9 seconds. Despite being heavier (around 110kg) than the F12, the 812 Superfast offers a top speed of over 211mph. This makes it a demonic machine. Its CO2 emissions stand at 340g/km.
This most powerful Ferrari sits on a re-tuned chassis, which is boosted with Ferrari’s Slide Slip Control technology. The same platform has already been used for the 488GTB. Unlike the F12tdf, which has first-generation virtual short wheelbase, the 812 Superfast gets the second generation of Virtual Short Wheelbase.
Compared to the F12, the 812 Superfast has a more aggressive and aerodynamic design that enhances its down-force. The car also comes with a new dashboard with updated instrument cluster display, tuned steering wheel controls and new sports seats. The 812 Superfast is also the first Ferrari to get the electric power steering.
The all-new Ferrari 812 Superfast will have its world premiere at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show. As far as price is concerned, it will be slightly more expensive than the F12 that costs £241,073 (over Rs 2 crore).
