Impact Design Philosophy - After Tiago and Tigor, the new Nexon SUV is the third Tata product to feature the company's new 'IMPACT' design philosophy. This mini SUV features Tata's characteristic Diamond DLO, Slingshot Line and Humanity Line. The vehicle looks largely identical to the concept and carries a coupe-like profile.
Platform - The Tata Nexon compact SUV is based on the modified X1 platform that also underpins the Zest and the Bolt. Upfront is a piano-black grille, projector headlamps, LED DRLs and upright bonnet. On sides, the mini SUV features a ceramic side finisher, contrast roof and new 16-inch alloys. At the back, the vehicle gets a sporty design with an integrated spoiler and stylish LED tail lamps.
An all-new diesel engine - The Tata Nexon compact SUV is available with two engine options - a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and a 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel. The diesel version is the most powerful car in its league. While the former is capable of producing 108bhp and 170Nm, the oil burner is good for 108bhp and 260Nm of torque.
Harman Infotainment System with Freestanding Touchscreen - The Nexon shares most of its components from other Tata cars available in the market. It is equipped with a new generation Harman connectnext infotainment system with a freestanding touchscreen on the dashboard. This HD touchscreen system is compatible with navigation, bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also works as a display for the reversing camera.
The company will also introduce the Nexon AMT (automatic) in coming months.
Dimensions - Sits below 4 meter, the Nexon mini SUV measures 3,995mm in length, 1,811mm in width and 1,607mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,498mm. The mini SUV comes with a ground clearance of 209mm, which is more than sufficient to tackle Indian road conditions.
Boot Space - Despite being sub-4 meter in length, the Nexon offers segment-leading 350-litres of luggage carrying capacity. The boot space can further be expanded to 690-litres by folding the rear seats completely.
