The convertible version of the Ferrari LaFerrari have been finally unveiled by the Italian supercar maker via a set of images. The new limited edition will be christened Ferrari LaFerrari 'Aperta', which means 'open' in English. This top-less beauty will make its public debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The launch, however, will take place in 2017.
Interestingly, all the units of the Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta have already been sold after it was previewed to clients in a special screening. Bookings for the vehicle have already been closed.
Powering the LaFerrari Aperta will be the same V12 mill along with an electric motor. While the V12 engine churns out 800PS on its own, the electric motor additionally produces 163PS. The combined power output is mammoth 963PS.
The limited edition LaFerrari Aperta will have a soft top and a carbon-fibre hard top versions. It shares its underpinnings with the regular LaFerrari, though the company has made some modifications to its chassis in order to offer it the same level of torsional rigidity and beam stiffness as its coupe sibling. The company says that the vehicle's aerodynamics have also been sharpened to offer the same drag coefficient as the regular LaFerrari.
Since the coupe version sprints 0-100kmph in less than three seconds, we expect the LaFerrari Aperta too to be as fast as the former. More details on this will be revealed upon its unveiling.
